How to Build a Sunday Mass Worship Aid in Weeve

Weeve generates a print-ready Sunday worship aid from the official Catholic lectionary. You pick a date, the day's readings load automatically, you fill in hymns and parish details, and you download a PDF. Start to finish takes most parish staff about ten minutes.

You do not need an account to download a PDF. An account is only required if you want to save the worship aid to come back to later, or to export to Microsoft Word.

What you'll need before starting

• The Mass date.
• Your parish name and (optionally) address, phone, website, and pastor's name.
• Hymn selections — entrance, offertory, communion, recessional. You can fill these in later if you don't have them yet.
• Any announcements you want printed on the back.

1. Open the builder

Go to the Sunday Mass builder. The setup wizard opens automatically on a fresh start. If you'd rather skip the wizard and edit the form directly, close the wizard and use the fields underneath.

2. Pick the date

Choose the Sunday (or other liturgical day) the worship aid is for. As soon as you select a date, Weeve fetches that day's readings from the lectionary — First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, Second Reading, and Gospel. There's nothing to type. English and Spanish are both available; switch with the language selector.

3. Review the readings

Confirm the loaded readings look correct. The psalm has three modes:

• Parsed (default) — Weeve splits the psalm into verses and refrain, the standard print layout.
• Custom refrain — if your parish uses a different musical setting, type in the refrain text and it replaces the lectionary version.
• Skip — leave the psalm slot blank, useful if you're handling it in song only.

4. Choose hymns

Enter the hymn title and (optionally) the hymnal number for the entrance, offertory, communion, and recessional. The text appears in the order-of-service section of the worship aid. Save these as defaults on your profile to skip this step in future weeks.

5. Toggle which prayers to include

Tick the prayers that should appear in full text on the aid: Gloria, Creed (Nicene or Apostles'), Sanctus, Memorial Acclamation, Lord's Prayer, and others. The defaults match a typical Sunday Mass.

6. Add parish information

Parish name, address, phone, website, and the celebrant's name. This information prints on the cover and can be saved to your profile so it auto-fills next time.

7. Pick a design

Choose a border style (plain, classic, ornate), a heading color, divider treatment, text scale, and whether to hide the small "made with Weeve" branding (paid plans only). All design choices flow through to both the PDF and the Word export.

8. Review and download

The review step shows the live preview. When it looks right, click Download PDF — that's free for anyone. If you have a paid plan, you can also export to a .docx Word file for editing in your parish's existing template. Half-sheet (folded booklet) and full-sheet layouts are both supported.

9. Save it (optional)

Sign in and click save — your worship aid appears at your dashboard and can be opened, edited, and re-downloaded next week. Free accounts save 1 worship aid; paid plans save unlimited.

Tips and gotchas

• The date drives everything in the readings section — changing it reloads First Reading, Psalm, Second Reading, and Gospel together. There's no way to mix-and-match.
• If you want a different psalm refrain for a musical setting, use the custom refrain mode rather than editing the lectionary text directly.
• Profile defaults — set your language, prayer toggles, parish info, and design preferences once on the profile page and they apply to every future worship aid.
