How to Build a Catholic Wedding Program in Weeve

What you'll need before starting

• Bride's and groom's full names.
• Wedding date, church, and the celebrant's name.
• The four chosen readings (First, Psalm, Second, Gospel). If you haven't picked yet, see our guide to choosing wedding readings.
• Hymn selections: entrance/processional, offertory, communion, recessional.

1. Open the builder

Go to the wedding program builder. The standard design is already prepared, and the short setup opens automatically.

2. Your details

Enter the bride's and groom's names exactly as they should appear on the cover. Then fill in:

• Wedding date: pick the date. Unlike the Sunday Mass builder, this does not auto-load readings; weddings use the approved list.
• Church: the parish where the ceremony will take place.
• Celebrant: the priest or deacon officiating.

3. Readings

Keep the suggested selection or pick another option for each of the four slots. The builder organizes the approved readings by category:

• First Reading: 7 Old Testament options (Genesis, Tobit, Song of Songs, Sirach, Jeremiah).
• Responsorial Psalm: 7 options including Psalm 128 and Psalm 34.
• Second Reading: 9 options from Paul, John, and Revelation. Optional at a wedding outside of Mass.
• Gospel: 10 options including the Beatitudes, the wedding at Cana, and "remain in my love."

Music details

Add hymn titles for entrance/processional, offertory, communion, and recessional in your program details. Music selections are included in the free standard program; hymnal numbers are optional.

Prayers and ceremony options

The standard program uses concise ceremony wording. You can include full prayer texts through the free Ceremony options. Basic ceremony choices, including the arras and lazo when your parish uses them, remain free. Full personalization adds custom wording and the optional Guest Guide.

Additional parish details

Your church and celebrant are included in the free details. The Wedding Party step, also free, lists your parents, attendants, readers, and musicians on the back cover. Extra sections such as parish announcements and petitions are part of the one-time personalization unlock.

Optional personalization

The free Gilded design uses gold details and elegant typography. Print format and large text stay free. Choose full personalization to preview different colors, borders, artwork, photos, messages, and extra sections. Keeping these changes in your download requires the $10 unlock for this program.

4. Review and download

Review the live preview, then download your standard PDF with a free account. If you have tried paid personalization, choose either the $10 unlock to keep it or the free standard program with your details, readings, and music. The unlock also includes an editable .docx Word file for a stationer or print shop.

Save for later

Sign in and save. Your program appears at your dashboard and can be reopened for last-minute changes. Free accounts can save one program; a program with the $10 unlock does not count against that limit and remains available permanently.

Tips and gotchas

• Review the suggested readings with your parish. You can replace them at any time, including after saving.
• Use half-sheet layout for a folded booklet style program, full-sheet for a single 8.5×11 handout.
• You can preview paid design changes without re-entering your details or readings.
• If your wedding falls on a Sunday or solemnity, ask your priest which readings are required. Sometimes the day's lectionary readings replace the wedding-specific ones.
