Mark 13:33-37
Jesus tells his friends to stay awake and ready. He compares it to a man who leaves on a long trip, gives each servant a job, and asks the doorkeeper to keep watch, because nobody knows what hour he will come home.

December 6, 2026
Mark 1:1-8
John the Baptist appears in the desert and calls people to turn back to God. Crowds come to be baptized in the Jordan River. John wears camel hair, eats locusts and wild honey, and tells them someone greater is on the way.

December 13, 2026
John 1:6-8, 19-28
God sends John to point people toward the light. When priests and Levites come from Jerusalem to ask who he is, John says plainly that he is not the Christ. He is a voice getting people ready for someone he feels unworthy to serve.

December 20, 2026
Luke 1:26-38
God sends the angel Gabriel to Mary in Nazareth. Gabriel tells her she will have a son and name him Jesus. Mary asks how this can happen, Gabriel tells her about the Holy Spirit, and Mary says yes to God.

Open class with the coming Sunday's sheet, then talk through the Gospel while the children color. Older grades can take a puzzle home, and the answer key stays with the catechist.
Print a sheet on Saturday night so your child already knows the story when it is read at Mass. Color it in the pew or at the kitchen table afterward.
